(A) Admission Test (ECAT 2017)
ECAT Test Application Process and Eligibility Critera
1- How to Apply
(i) The ECAT 2017 applications shall be filled online. The candidate needs not to go anywhere to get the application form.
(ii) Just login at official site of UET. On clicking the “Register” button, a simple Application Form will appear which the candidate is required to fill.
(iii) It must be noted that the candidate cannot edit his/her application once it has been submitted. On a single CNIC/B-Form Number, only one application can be submitted.
(iv) Upon successful submission of application, the candidate will be assigned a “Unique Application Serial Number”. He/she should note that number as it will be used in future for accessing the submitted application and the Admittance Card issued by the University. The candidate should get a print of the filled application form by clicking “Download & Print” button. If the facility of printing is not available at that time, the candidate can access his/her application any other time by clicking “Search Registration” button.
(v) The candidate or his/her nominee is required to visit alongwith his/her printed application, the nearest branch of HBL ( UET Short Listed Branches), for fee submission. On submission of Rs.500/- (in cash) as ECAT 2017 fee

(vi) After fee submission, the candidate shall be communicated his/her Roll Number and Examination Centre via SMS and E-mail Alerts at his/her mobile number and E-mail address within 72 hours. The Admittance Card of the candidate with his/her photograph and unique QR Code shall be sent on his/her E-mail address as an attachment.
2-ECAT, UET Required Documents:
Applicants have to submit these documents along with application form for ECAT exam.
- One Photo Copy of CNIC / B Form
- Photo copies of educational certificates or Matriculation/ O Level and F.Sc (Part one)
- It is also mandatory to submit the two passport size fresh photos of applicants
- Bank Challan form’s 1st copy
- Photocopy of Domicile
How many times can I take the ECAT?
The PEC plans to keep the current ECAT exam for at least 17 years. There will be new limits on how often students may take the new ECAT exam.

Note: A voided exam and a ‘no show’ are counted as attempts in taking the exam. There is no required waiting period before you can retake the ECAT.
(B) Admissions In University/College
After the declaration of ECAT result, the process of admission into public sector engineering institutions of the Punjab shall start in October this year. The process shall be as follows:
(i) The merit for the purpose of admission shall be calculated as an Aggregate Percentage of marks derived from the formula of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) by adding the marks in the following ratio:
- Intermediate Pre-Medical or equivalent = 70%
- ECAT-2017 = 30%
